Three Private Dance Lessons with Choreographer Andrea Andresakis
A native New Yorker, Ms. Andresakis began her performing career at the age of nine dancing choreography by George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins at Lincoln Center. Graduating from the High School of Performing Arts, she appeared in both the film and television series Fame. At New York City Center, Ms. Andresakis had the privilege of dancing Memoria by Mr. Alvin Ailey. She has also performed on Broadway, at Radio City Music Hall, with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, across the US, and internationally.
As a teaching artist, Ms. Andresakis has taught, directed, and/or choreographed at several US institutions such as the State University of New York, the City University of New York, and Georgetown University in Washington D.C. Ms. Andresakis has directed and choreographed dozens of musicals, operas, plays, and dance theatre both nationally and internationally.
Her New York City musical theatre credits include the direction and choreography of Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Prince, Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 and the world premiere of Spandex, a new musical for all Sizes Off- Broadway. Plays, opera and dance, she allows each medium to inform the others.
